Hello everyone!
Join my CONTEMPORARY CITYSCAPES IN WATERCOLOR and learn to capture your surroundings in beautiful, atmospheric paintings. In this course, I will share my process as I paint a night scene with people and lights, a rainy day with street cars, and a sunny cityscape.
Learn to paint your favorite city scene by learning my tips and tricks when painting with watercolor. Learn to paint large scale paintings, enhance your own photos to create your favorite scene, mix your paints, explore what happens between brushstrokes, experiment with how much water to use, and more. Don’t worry about making mistakes as this is how we learn, and part of the beauty of working in watercolors are the “happy accidents” that happen.
All you need is a few basic supplies and you will be ready to start creating your own scene in watercolor.
COURSE OPEN! SELF-STUDY! You can access the course by register, complete purchase and you will immediately have Lifetime Access to any lesson in the class.
Enjoy and have fun!

- RAINY DAY CITYSCAPEIn our first lesson I will show you how I paint a rainy day scene. We will include street car reflections, lots of red brake lights and street lights in the wet pavement to really capture the feeling of rain. You will learn how to mix the perfect shades of gray for the sky and use different techniques, brush strokes to create the texture of the reflections.4
- NIGHTSCENEIn this lesson I will show you how to paint my favorite type of watercolor cityscape, a night scene. This will be very dark and very obscure, with a lot of atmosphere, night lights twinkling in the background. You will learn how to create a sharp shadow revealing contrast between lights and darks for a realistic night scene.4
- SUNNY DAY CITYSCAPEIn our final lesson we will learn how to paint a sunny day in watercolor. I'd love to show you how the light hits the buildings, again showing the contrast between the light and shadow. We will also use lines, values and different shapes to create the mood of the city streets as we see it.4
- FAREWELLWe have explored the beauty of the city through our paintings, learning to capture the unique light and color of the cityscape.
